About

Hi, I’m Anton.

I’m a backend engineer based in Vancouver. Most of my work has been around APIs, backend services, data platforms, and the infrastructure that keeps them running.

I’ve been working as a software engineer since 2016. I started in telecommunications, then worked in financial systems, and most recently helped build and operate a cloud analytics platform.

What I enjoy most is understanding how a system behaves when things get busy or go wrong, then making it simpler, faster, and easier to run.

Lately, I’ve been learning more about AI engineering through small projects and writing. I’m applying the same principles I rely on in backend and distributed systems: clear failure handling, testing, observability, and deterministic business rules around the parts that should not be left to a model. I’m still learning the AI side, but I think those established engineering habits are a useful place to start.

Outside of work

Pickleball and a new interest in cameras.

Pickleball

I play whenever I can. It’s a fun way to get away from the keyboard, be competitive, and spend time with other people.

Videography

I’m just getting started with videography and content creation. I want to learn how to tell clearer stories and make things people enjoy watching.
